Carol Clewlow

Writing Director

Carol Clewlow is the author of four novels including the Whitbread-shortlisted Keeping the Faith and the best-selling A Woman’s Guide to Adultery, later made into a TV mini series. A further novel, Love in the Modern Sense and a number of her short stories have been broadcast on Radio Four and she adapted a fourth book, One for the Money, for performance at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Carol Clewlow - Writing Director A former journalist, and an experienced teacher of creative writing, she has run writing workshops for many different community groups and organisations, for everyone from doctors, to clergy to businessmen. She has been running writing and drama workshops for schools, colleges and other organisations for more than a decade.

A founder member of the Blyth Page to Stage project, she has led the writing component since its inception five years ago. She is also founder member of Operating Theatre based at Live Theatre in Newcastle and the Newcastle Medical School for whom she runs workshops and writes drama for teaching purposes. Carol teaches on the MA course in creative writing at the University of Northumbria.
